Remote laboratory for training in industrial automation

Abstract

This contribution is the result of applying a new experience in the creation of remote laboratories for the training in Industrial Automation’s subject to the Industrial Engineering. This remote laboratory is applied for giving educational support to the teacher, but also it allows the implementation of virtual practices with web technology. The student, by means of the Learning Management System (LMS) in junction with a Moodle platform, can connect remotely to a working station and realize practices as if he were present in the laboratory. The student can realize, simulate, transfer and debug programs remotely. Either, the student can verify its proper function by means of a webcam.
