El Laboratori centra la seva activitat en l'adaptació de les tecnologies emergents en entorns amb unes característiques especials, i destina la seva recerca en el disseny de solucions tecnològiques per a col·lectius professionals que tenen una activitat intensiva en el coneixement.
Els seus objectius específics són:
1) Disseny i aplicació de mètodes i tecnologies d'intel·ligència col·lectiva.
2) Adaptació d'interfícies visuals
3) Disseny i aplicació de solucions TIC per a la Sanitat
4) Mètodes per a la integració de les TIC en entorns de e-Learning
5) Mètodes per a la integració de les TIC en entorns de seguretat ciutadana
