dc.description.abstractThe energetic needs of the planet are continuously growing due to the increase of population and the new and demanding activities arising. Besides this, the fossil fuel depletion and the global warming suggest that the development of renewable energies is crucial for both environmental and economic issues. The goal of this work is to assess the wave energy potential along the Atlantic coast of France, including the appraisal of the wave energy resource and the estimate of the wave energy produced by several wave energy converters (WEC) that are available.
