dc.description | Development and production of a low cost, handheld heterodyne ultrasound receiver that allows the user to tune the specific echolocation call frequency of each bat specie. Among others, the device will be used inside a volunteer program that monitors the activity of the Myotis Daubentoni (water bat) as an indicator of the quality of the water on natural environments (target of the study : Catalonia) |
dc.description.abstract | The BAT TUNE project is the development and production of a low cost heterodyne ultrasound receiver that is specifically designed for near professional activity monitoring of the different chiroptera species. The project is included as a part of an European volunteer program called Quirorius (http://www.quirorius.org/) where the activity of the European Water Bat (?Myotis D?Aubentoni?) is intended to be an indicator of the quality on the Catalonian water environments. The study follows the ?Bat Conservation Trust? survey. Free license tools haas been used during the product development (KiCAD, PSPICE models , etc) and the generation of the component libraries under this environment is also in the scope of the project. Apart from the pure product design, market analysis, device production and technical trainings for the volunteers have been performed |
