This Final Grade Work is done in coordination with the company Redman TH (www.redman.es), located in Vilanova i la Geltrú, through an extra-curricular arrangement and a development of a project commissioned by an external client. The client requested the development of a complex system to offer two services at the same time, located in tourist beaches of Vilanova; they are as follows: - Device mobility discovery, within the particular area (associated with a MAC address) by 2.4GHz wireless technology. The aim of this service is the collection of large-scale data to create statistical information based on: location, time and recurrence, among others. It will be equipped with a desktop application that allows system administrators to receive, manage and extract data. This part requires the configuration and adaptation of a database server (Microsoft SQL Server 2012) for the storage and processing of data. - Internet access service with a captive portal and the option to choose different payment plans through the same wireless technology. The aim of this is to create a profitable sponsorship for the system (third-part collaboration) and collect personal information about the service users. This part requires the configuration and adjustment of multiple servers to ensure a proper behaviour: Tomcat7 Apache, Apache2 HTTP Server, FreeRadius and MySQL. Both services will be over the IEEE 802.11 standard, so we have to plan and measure a network that supports this technology; furthermore, an appropriate radio links to a centralized router, connections from the production environment and the ability to interconnect hardware.
