| dc.description | This project is intended to by a guide for sailors wanting to improve their results in sailing races or for forecasters wanting to improve their forecasts so they are more useful to develop the strategies of a sailing race. In the first part of the project there is an introduction to sailing, meteorology, oceanography and sailing races. This introduction is oriented to allow any reader to follow the subsequent explanations. In the second part of the project, there is an study of the different forecasting methods and the sailing capacities of different types of sailboats. Finally in the third part of the project, there is a study about which is the best forecasting method for every stage of the preparation of the boat and the strategy. There are also some strategies explained, which can be carried out using these forecasting methods, to have a better result in a sailing race. |
