dc.description.abstractThis document presents the implemented algorithms for human motion analysis within ACTIBIO. According to the systems developed in WP3 two main branches of analysis have been defined: model-based and model-free analysis. Model-based analysis targets methods that employ high-level parameters obtained from a body model. These parameters are basically a set of joint angles and positions that are estimated via the articulated motion tracking algorithms proposed in activity A3.2. On the other hand, model-free analysis mainly investigates how to obtain view-invariant low-level features that could be used to boost known motion analysis techniques. The starting point for this approach is a set of foreground silhouettes obtained from several views. Methods for extracting silhouettes of humans in controlled environments have been studied and implemented in activity A3.1
