Acotación rápida de la probabilidad de error en un sistema de transmisión digital por fibra óptica con símbolos no correlados

Abstract

This paper deals with the problem of determinig an upper bound on the average conditional error probabilities in a digital optical fiber communication system with non-correlated symbols, in the presence of additive noise and intersymbol interference. The message dependent non-stationary shot noise statistics is approximated by the worst-case gaussian statistics. The new method introduced in this paper to compute the error probability seems to achieve a good compromise between accuracy and computer time.
