Cartografía de la Memoria: lectura de los rastros de paisaje de las canteras de marès de Mallorca

Abstract

El proceso de poner de manifiesto las canteras de marès como uno de los paisajes característicos de Mallorca pasa por entender cómo éstas han influido en su formación. El objetivo principal de la investigación es la demostración de la hipótesis originaria de la tesis, la cual entiende que las canteras de marés son las que configuran la identidad de la isla y, por tanto, merecen ser reconocidas como componentes de valor de este territorio. El proceso de reconocimiento del Paisaje de Canteras en el territorio de Mallorca nace del análisis mediante la representación de este caso de estudio. La memoria, como elemento intangible, no se encuentra presente de manera material en el territorio, pero ha configurado la presencia de rastros que posibilitan su lectura. La reconstrucción de la memoria vinculada a las canteras de marès a partir de la cartografía del proceso que las ha originado y de la lectura de sus rastros intangibles será lo que permitirá visualizar su imaginario colectivo como imagen de este paisaje llegando determinar una identidad a la vez reconocida y pendiente de descubrir

The process of highlighting the sandstone quarries as a typical landscape of Mallorca means to understand how they have influenced its formation. The aim of this research is the demonstration of the originary hypotheses of the thesis, which understands that the sandstone quarries are modelers of the island’s identity and, therefore, deserve to be recognized as components of value in the territory. The process of recognition of the Quarries Landscape in Mallorca is born from the analysis through representing this study case. Memory, as an intangible element, is not materially present in the territory, but has set the presence of traces which make possible reading it. The reconstruction of the memory linked to the sandstone quarries through mapping the process that has originated them and reading from their intangible traces will allow us to view their collective imaginary as a landscape image determining an identity, both recognized and awaiting to be discovered.
