dc.description.abstractIn the SMOS measurements, the negative effect of RadioFrequency Interference (RFI) is clearly present, deteriorating the Brightness Temperature (BT) images. RFI sources have to be monitored and accurately geolocated in order to improve the quality of geophysical parameter retrieval from the SMOS BT image, and eventually develop algorithm to cancel them. This paper present a case study of SMOS RFI source detection and geolocation based on MUSIC (MUltiple SIgnal Classification) algorithm. Thanks to the high angular/spatial resolution of MUSIC algorithm, the RFI sources densely populated in East Asia can be separately geolocated, which is difficult using SMOS standard brightness temperature images.
