Abstract
Thermoelectric materials have garnered significant attention in response to the necessity to develop alternative
energy sources than those that rely on fossil fuels. The performance of thermoelectric materials1 is quantified by
their figure of merit, which is determined by the Seebeck coefficient (S), electrical conductivity (s), and thermal
conductivity (¿). The figure of merit is formulated as
