Internal heat gains in a building represent a problem when heat dissipation from devices or users, does not have escape routes other than natural ventilation, especially in warm climates. This paper aims to collect data to understand the phenomena of heat transfer through façades. Observing internal-external heat flow, and existing resources for heat dissipation. This research relates the concepts, resources and techniques used in other fields like mechanics and electronic to propose analog thinking for applying these resources in facades. Heat dissipation in the field of engineering it’s an important issue, the function of a heat sink depends much as the use of a conductive material such as aluminum or copper, its geometrical structure, (by increasing the amount of surface in contact with the exterior, the heat dissipated is increased) and also by using fluids, the heat dissipation increases by convection. In architecture this could be related to the form factor, assuming facades with high form factor, heat dissipates better than in low form factor façades. Another topic affecting heat dissipation is the conductivity of the materials. The conductivity of a material changes depending on the content of water or air in its composition. Probably investigating materials that can change its conductivity will have a positive effect in relation to heat dissipation from the interior of buildings in warm climates.
