Local generic behavior of a planar Filippov system with non-smooth switching curve
(Springer Nature, 2021-10-18)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyThis paper discusses the generic local classification of typical singularities of 2D piecewise smooth vector fields when the switching set is an non smooth curve. The main goal is to obtain classification results concerning ... -
Type III excitability, slope sensitivity and coincidence detection
(American Institute of Mathematical Sciences, 2012-08-01)
Article
Open AccessSome neurons in the nervous system do not show repetitive firing for steady currents. For time-varying inputs, they fire once if the input rise is fast enough. This property of phasic firing is known as Type III excitability. ... -
Ejection–collision orbits in two degrees of freedom problems in celestial mechanics
(Springer Nature, 2021-08-01)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyIn a general setting of a Hamiltonian system with two degrees of freedom and assuming some properties for the undergoing potential, we study the dynamics close and tending to a singularity of the system which in models of ... -
An efficient statistical adaptive order-switching methodology for kalman filters
(2021-02)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyVariants and improvements of the extended Kalman filter (EKF) always encounter a dilemma between the estimation accuracy delivered and the computational burden associated. Targeting to improve this shortcoming, achieving ... -
Chaotic-like transfers of energy in hamiltonian PDEs
(Springer Nature, 2021-01-01)
Article
Open AccessWe consider the nonlinear cubic Wave, the Hartree and the nonlinear cubic Beam equations on T2 and we prove the existence of different types of solutions which exchange energy between Fourier modes in certain time scales. ... -
Synthetic criticality in cellular brains
(2021-12-01)
Article
Open AccessCognitive networks have evolved to cope with uncertain environments in order to make reliable decisions. Such decision making circuits need to respond to the external world in efficient and flexible ways, and one potentially ... -
Factors related to inhibition of lactation by pharmacological means at birth in a Spanish referral hospital (2011-2017) Factores relacionados con la inhibición de la lactancia por medios farmacológicos al nacer en un hospital de referencia español (2011-2017)
(Elsevier, 2021-01-01)
Article
Open AccessObjective To describe the maternal, neonatal and pregnancy characteristics related to inhibition of lactation (IL) with cabergoline. Method We assessed 20,965 occasions of breastfeeding initiation, according to data collected ... -
Invariant algebraic surfaces of polynomial vector fields in dimension three
(Springer, 2021-01-01)
Article
Open AccessWe discuss criteria for the nonexistence, existence and computation of invariant algebraic surfaces for three-dimensional complex polynomial vector fields, thus transferring a classical problem of Poincaré from dimension ... -
Global analysis of direct transfers from lunar orbits to sun-earth libration point regimes
(Springer Nature, 2021-04-01)
Article
Open AccessIn this paper we look forward to obtain a global picture of simple transfer opportunities from Lunar to Sun-Earth libration orbits, useful for a preliminary design of these mission scenarios. Considering the trajectory of ... -
Continuous and discrete neumann systems on stiefel varieties as matrix generalizations of the jacobi-mumford systems
(2021-06-01)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyWe study geometric and algebraic geometric properties of the continuous and discrete Neumann systems on cotangent bundles of Stiefel varieties Vn,r. The systems are integrable in the non-commutative sense, and by applying ... -
Critical slowing down close to a global bifurcation of a curve of quasi-neutral equilibria
(2022-01)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyCritical slowing down arises close to bifurcations and involves long transients. Despite slowing down phenomena have been widely studied in local bifurcations i.e., bifurcations of equilibrium points, less is known about ... -
Convexity and symmetry of central configurations in the five-body problem: Lagrange plus two
(2021-07-10)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyWe study convexity and symmetry of central configurations in the five body problem when three of the masses ara located at the vertices of an equilateral triangle, that we call Lagrange plus two central configurations. ...
