In this work it is presented a framework for a global optimization tool that will take into account air craft dynamics and performances, noise nuisances and RNAV radionavigation requirements in order to assess an optimum flight depart or approach procedure. This strategy would be used as an optimization process performed by the corresponding authority in charge of the air traffic management of the involved airport or by an on-board optimization algorithm integrated in the Flight Management and Guidance System (FMGS). In both cases, the optimization framework is the same and the differences reside in the specific implementation of the optimization algorithms and the availability of the data in real time. In addition, aircraft's dynamic equations are developed in order to compute the flight trajectory from a set of flight guidance control variables and a first glance into a noise optimization criterion is given. Finally, the global optimization problem is properly formulated and the proposed solving utilities are presented.
