Abstract
This project undertakes the design, development, and prototyping of a portable, noise-cancelling wall that operates on the principles of Origami. The product is designed compact for transport or standby mode and expands into a larger structure when deployed, serving as an effective noise barrier. Our team focused on extensive research into the principles of Origami, acoustics, and noise-cancelling technologies. This initial research aimed to understand how folding techniques could be incorporated into an effective, aesthetically pleasing, and user-friendly noise-cancelling solution. The design process involved iterative prototyping and testing, ensuring that the product is not only practical but also efficient in noise cancellation. The final product is a "pop-up" noise-cancelling wall that combines the elegance of Origami with the functionality of a sound barrier. The project's primary achievement is the successful integration of Origami principles into a practical, user-friendly product that serves a real-world purpose - noise cancellation. It showcases the potential of interdisciplinary design and opens doors for future innovations in portable and functional design solutions. The project also underscores the significance of effective teamwork and diverse skillsets in successfully bringing a concept to fruition.
