Abstract
The objective of this work will be to analyse how the aeronautical industry is able to implement a reduction of inspections on the engine pieces without affecting the final quality of the final piece, to reduce as much as possible the costs related to the measurement process. This project is part of an internal plan of the group to which Industria de Turbo Propulsores, ITP Aero, belongs to, for the standardization of reduced inspections in its suppliers without affecting the final quality of the piece, in order to reduce the measurement time of parts of the suppliers. This change translates into a shorter time of use of the measuring machines and considerable price savings when negotiating contracts with suppliers. The objective of this standardization is that it can be implemented in the maximum possible suppliers, and therefore in the maximum pieces which admit this reduction of inspections. For this purpose, we will have to carry out an exhaustive study of the piece, to approve that it is suitable, and the supplier, to approve that their pieces are of sufficient quality so as not to have to inspect 100% of the dimensions or pieces. During the project, the different alternatives that exist when carrying out the measurements and the different alternative and reaction plans in the event of a quality leak will be explained, to know how to react and deal with the problem. Once they have been approved, we will start with the reduced inspection method and we will analyse the benefits it entails for both, ITP Aero and its supplier. Based on these aspects, and all those that we will see through the work, which are directly related to the quality of the piece, and therefore to the overall quality of the engine, we will standardize the process of reduce inspections in ITP Aero suppliers.
