Aquest projecte s'entrega com a treball de final de grau en enginyeria informàtica a la Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB). La idea darrere d'aquest projecte és comprendre la situació actual dels xatbots i la seva evolució al llarg del temps. A més, es vol utilitzar aquesta tecnologia per desenvolupar un xatbot de recordatoris de cites i medicaments orientat a persones amb demència, per ajudar i facilitar la vida a aquest sector de la població que normalment passa desapercebut. Partint d'aquesta premisa, s'ha decidit desenvolupar un assistent conversacional que funciona a través del sistema de missatgeria de Telegram. Aquest s'encarrega de la recepció de missatges per part de l'usuari i de l'enviament de les respostes per part de l'assistent. Després d'un anàlisi exhaustiu de les plataformes existents per al desenvolupament de xatbots, s'ha decidit utilitzar el framework de Rasa per a la implementació de l'assistent. Aquest framework ens ha permès crear el model d'interpretació del llenguatge natural, que processa la informació rebuda per l'usuari i genera les respostes de l'assistent. Els recordatoris s'emmagatzemen en una base de dades per al seu posterior tractament i enviament als usuaris. L'assistent creat és capaç d'entendre les intencions dels usuaris, diferenciant correctament si es volen programar recordatoris recurrents o temporals, el tipus de recordatori tant de cita com de medicament i la data i hora en què es vol establir el recordatori i el seu contingut corresponent.
This project is submitted as the final degree work in computer engineering at the Faculty of Informatics of Barcelona (FIB). The idea behind this project is to understand the current situation of chatbots and their evolution over time. Furthermore, the aim is to use this technology to develop a reminder chatbot for appointments and medication targeted at people with dementia, to help and facilitate their lives, as they are often overlooked. Based on this premise, it has been decided to develop a conversational assistant that operates through the Telegram messaging system. This assistant is responsible for receiving messages from the user and sending responses from the assistant. After a thorough analysis of existing platforms for chatbot development, Rasa framework has been chosen for implementing the assistant. This framework has allowed us to create the natural language understanding model, which processes the information received from the user and generates the assistant's responses. Reminders are stored in a database for further processing and delivery to users. The created assistant is capable of understanding user intentions, correctly distinguishing between scheduling recurring or one-time reminders, differentiating between appointment and medication reminders, capturing the desired date and time for the reminder, as well as the corresponding content.
