Abstract
Water is a complex liquid that has unusual behaviours, the most famous being the maximum density at
4ºC. Here in this paper it is reported some of its properties. To do so, molecular dynamics simulations were
carried out using the water model called TIP4P/2005. The data obtained in those simulations enabled us to
study the radial distribution function, the density, the compressibility, the average number of hydrogen
bonds and the self-diffusion coefficient of water. It is shown that this model correctly describes the
structural, thermodynamic and dynamic properties of water. Furthermore, the anomalous behaviour of the
maximum in density among others such as the minimum of the compressibility were also well characterised
and in agreement with experimental data
