Abstract
Photoconductive Antennas (PCAs) are used for the generation of THz radiation using lasers impinging in a gap between electrodes to induce carrier current and subsequently radiated field. The computation of this photocurrent can be simplified assuming that the carriers follow the bias field lines produced by the electrodes, transforming the complex 3D system of equations into a 1D problem along each field line. The numerical results of this approach are presented for a bow tie PCA.
