The documentary study of the so-called "witch hunt" experienced by Europe, and also Spain, during the 15th to 17th centuries shows an important presence of women convicted for acts intrinsically linked to the science of health, executed by alleged to have poisoned their neighbours under false promises of healing or, in some cases, as terrible revenge for the offences suffered. In this way, framed within the context of a doctoral thesis on the construction of the crime of witchcraft in the Pyrenees still under development, the communication aims to briefly explain how some women were unfairly tried and sentenced for atrocious crimes that never go away. commit, understanding witches as a historical chapter that evidences gender bias in the practice of medical and pharmaceutical science. Bringing the reality closer to the myth and carrying out a legal reading of this dark episode in the history of Spain, emphasis will be placed on how the legal system of the Middle Ages favoured the prosecution and execution of these women, especially in rural environments.
L’estudi documental de la denominada «caça de bruixes» que experimentà Europa, i també Espanya, durant el decurs dels segles XV a XVII evidencia una important presencia de dones condemnades per actes intrínsecament vinculats amb la ciència de la salut, executades per presumptament haver enverinat els seus veïns sota falses promeses de sanació o, en alguns casos, com a terribles venjances per les ofenses sofertes. D’aquesta manera, emmarcada dins el context d’una tesi doctoral sobre la construcció del delicte de bruixeria als Pirineus encara en desenvolupament, la comunicació pretén exposar breument com algunes dones foren injustament jutjades i sentenciades per atroços crims que mai van cometre, entenent les bruixes com un capítol històric que evidencia el biaix de gènere en la pràctica de la ciència mèdica i farmacèutica. Aproximant la realitat al mite i duent a terme una lectura jurídica d’aquest fosc episodi de la història d’Espanya, es farà èmfasi a com l’ordenament jurídic baixmedieval va afavorir el processament i execució d’aquestes dones, especialment en entorns rurals.
