Abstract
The European Union has announced its target to make hydrogen a main decarbonisation option to improve the efficiency and stability of renewable energy sources. Green hydrogen is a clean and carbon renewable energ ies .free energy carrier produced from This thesis is executed together at ESEIAAT and, within the Erasmus+ program, at Politecnico di Torino with the collaboration of the company Acabats del Bages SA. The objective is to evaluate th e hydrogen's possible use and potential inside the company, taking advantage of the feedstock of the different processes, to reduce the company's energy consumption and the environmental impact. The project considers a photovoltaic plant to power the waste water treatment plant and to produce green hydrogen via electrolysis with surplus energy. The aim is to discover the technical and economic viability with two scenarios, pessimistic and optimistic, and four different outlines: 2022, 2030, 2040, and 2050 . The results showed that green hydrogen has a great potential to reduce the consumption of natural gas and the emissions of the textile industry. At current prices, the project is viable from a technical and economic point of view, and it also reduces the c ompany's environmental impact. Moreover, the trend is that the technology for photovoltaic energy and hydrogen production will be cheaper at a later outline
