Abstract
Lignin, the main natural aromatic polymer, has always attracted the attention of researchers. Lignin, which has a very high efficiency and low cost for biomaterials, constitutes 90% of the choices for biomaterial production. Based on this, lignin has also been the subject of research in this study. Lignin is a very complex structural polymer with many surfaces. However, in this study, nanoparticles were produced to be modified by lignin sonochemically method and their behavior was investigated by treating with methylene blue. Phenolated lignin NPs were previously developed in the GBMI group. These NPs presented antibacterial and antioxidant activities, and were not cytotoxic for human cells. The size and wavelength of the synthesized and applied nanoparticles with methylene blue were characterized. At the same time, the modification analyzes of phenolic lignin nanoparticles with methylene blue were performed and compared with the previously synthesized phenolic lignin. Using the antioxidant property of methylene blue, it has been investigated by tests whether it is suitable for biomaterial applications and whether it is antibacterial. Methylene blue was chosen as a modified molecule because of its easy color tracking and antioxidant properties.
