En aquest projecte es dissenya un telèfon mòbil intel·ligent adaptat a persones grans. L’objectiu principal és apropar a elles les noves tecnologies i fer la seva comunicació el més fàcil possible.
Es realitza un estudi del seu públic objectiu: quins canvis estructurals i funcionals pateix en relació amb l’edat cronològica, quines problemàtiques té amb aquest tipus de dispositius, quin ús en fa i quins requeriments ergonòmics i funcionals té.
D’altra banda, s’emmarca el dispositiu dins l’ecosistema de Xiaomi, i es desenvolupa la imatge corporativa d’una subcompanyia fictícia enfocada exclusivament a persones d’edat avançada.
Posteriorment, a partir de diverses metodologies de disseny, es desenvolupa una proposta (prototip virtual) tenint en compte els criteris analitzats a la fase de recerca i seguint l’estètica i els valors de Xiaomi.
Algunes de les característiques generals del dispositiu dissenyat són: botons físics amb relleu o textures, un assistent de veu accessible amb navegació conversacional, una base de càrrega, interfícies de software simplificades i intuïtives, un botó d’alerta o emergència, etc.
Tot i no ser el focus principal del projecte, es duu a terme també el disseny intern del dispositiu, i es detallen els components principals que es requereixen per a la seva construcció. D’aquesta forma es pot estudiar la seva viabilitat econòmica, i el seu impacte social i ambiental.
Resumidament, es conclou que actualment hi ha poques alternatives de telèfons intel·ligents complets preparats per les necessitats d’una persona gran. Per això, és essencial que les marques de telefonia principals dissenyin productes d’aquest estil, especialment pensant en les properes generacions, que cada cop són més tecnològiques.
This project considers the design of a smartphone adapted to elderly persons. The key aim is to offer them new technologies and to allow them to communicate as simply as possible.
A study has been conducted of this target market: the structural and functional changes they experience as a result of their age, the problems they encounter with such devices, the use they make of such devices and what ergonomic and functional requirements they have.
The resulting device is part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, with the creation of a corporate logo of a fictitious sub-company aimed exclusively at elderly persons.
Subsequently, based on various design methodologies, a proposal was developed (a virtual prototype), taking into account the criteria analysed during the research stage and adopting the aesthetics and values of Xiaomi.
The general characteristics of the designed device include: hard keys with reliefs or textures, a voice assistant accessible through conversational navigation, a docking station that charges the device, simplified and intuitive software interfaces, an emergency alert button, etc.
Although not the main focus of the project, the internal design of the device has also been considered, detailing the key components required for its construction. This makes it possible to study its economic viability, as well as its social and environmental impact.
Finally, it is concluded that currently there are few alternatives to smartphones that fully take into account the needs of elderly persons. It is therefore essential that leading mobile telephone manufacturers design products of this type, that are specifically designed for the coming generations, who are increasingly more technologically aware.
