TMAS (T+) - Toxicologia i Microbiologia Ambiental i Sanitària
The group?s objectives are as follows:
- To establish an interdepartmental and multidisciplinary research group that will carry out basic and applied research in the environmental and medical toxicology and microbiology of different kinds of products, including food, materials, water from different sources, soils, sludges, leachates, aerosols, residues, biomedical implants, etc., and the identification of a wide range of microorganisms.
- To create a research group that is a key player in technology transfer, consulting services and assessment, in the following fields:
a. Safety and monitoring of both intermediate and finished products, including safety sheets for products and formulations that comply with REACH regulations, for various industrial sectors (chemical, textile, paper, fur and leather, food, etc.), for the government, for hospitals, etc.
b. Detection of biofilms on surfaces and detection of the biodegradation of polymers, together with disinfection strategies.
c. Monitoring of cellular ch

(2012-12)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyPurpose: To determine abnormalities in tear osmolarity (TO), tear function, and impression cytology in patients with pterygium and to assess the relationship between the variables. Methods: Thirty eyes from 30 patients ... -
Progress in understanding preferential detection of live cells using viability dyes in combination with DNA amplification
(2012-12-22)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyThe ideal scenario in most applications of microbial diagnostics is that only viable cells are detected. Bacteria were traditionally considered viable when they could be cultured, whereas today's viability concept tends ... -
