Abstract
This project consists of two documents. Document I, the report, which explains the entire study. Document II, the annexes, is made up of large figures and tables that complement the contents of the report. The aim of this work is to create a method for the integral quantification of the value of an airport. The example of application is Barcelona-El Prat airport. This quantification is carried out through a type of methodology based on the ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) approach. The main objectives of this work are: o Obtaining an index, number or weighting for each criterion of the method used. In addition, it can be used as a basis for future studies at other airports. o The comparison of the current situation with possible future scenarios of the airport under study, whether it is only an expansion or an expansion with a change in the management model. In order to achieve the objectives set out, firstly, the meaning of the concept of value throughout history is explained, through the best-known philosophical theories. Next, the proposal of the public value of an infrastructure, which has different purposes in the generation of value compared to the private sphere, is discussed. Next, other studies are mentioned that have quantified both the environmental impact with its corresponding reduction proposal for Barcelona-El Prat airport, as well as the social and economic impact of European airports. Moreover, the option chosen for the study is presented, with the adaptation of changing the governmental criterion for the economic one. Subsequently, the chosen methodology was applied with the corresponding calculation and repeated with three different scenarios, varying some parameters (passengers, connectivity, etc.). Once the results of the three scenarios were obtained, a comparison was made and the final conclusions of the work were drawn.
