Abstract
Spiking Neural Networks are the third generation
of artificial neural networks. To take full advantage of the energy
efficiency of this biologically-plausible architecture, multiple ways
have been proposed to implement neurons and synapses in
hardware. Using non-volatile memories as the weight holder
inside the network avoids data shuffling and allows local learning
by being themselves subject of training. We implement the
synaptic connections with multiple magnetic tunnel junctions, we
demonstrate the feasibility of Spike Timing Dependent Plasticity
to update the weight of the spintronic synapse. We finally carry
defect injection and analyze the behavior of the defective synapse.
