Abstract
Mountain tents have become an essential item in hikers' backpacks, especially during the summer season. They allow users to go on long hikes with the comfort of sleeping anywhere without having to take into account adverse weather conditions such as rain or wind. In this final master's project, the current market will be analyzed to determine which models exist on the market and which model of tent is most commonly used by hikers. The 3-season and mid-mountain tents are the most widely used, as there are great solutions for a price of around 200-300 €. However, after an exhaustive analysis of the materials and technologies of which they are made, it has been detected that there are few environmentally friendly elements. To solve this problem, the idea is to create a 3-season, mid-mountain tent taking into account the principles of eco-design and with a biomimetic exterior shape capable of integrating into nature and coexisting with it. In addition, the use of recycled materials, such as nylon, helps to reduce the carbon footprint. Finally, it is proposed to close the life cycle of the product by reusing the fabric of the tent to collaborate with the organizers of mountain races and to give added value to the gifts given to runners in each race
