Abstract
Para finalizar se incluye un apartado de conclusiones The aim of this project is to make a study on children’s hospital architecture and generate a debate on the way of projecting, based on the child´s perception of architecture.
In order to create awareness of this issue, I decided make a comparative research on three children’s hospitals.
The first one is the Evelina Children’s Hospital designed by the architects Michael and Patty Hopkins, architects who focused their main idea on the non over partition.
The next one is the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona, which suffered a reform under analysis in 2004, designed by Rosa Clotet and Joan Llongueras, who implemented the pediatric idea in the interior design.
The third and last is the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. A hospital which had an expansion in 2007 led by the studios Bates Smart and Billard Leedce, both of them were very committed to preserve the environment.
To complete the study, an annex is added with a less in-depth analysis of two projects that have not been built yet but I consider interesting.
To end this project, a conclusions section is included.
