Meristema, creixement natural d'Hostalric: nou centre cultural, social i educatiu

Abstract

El projecte pren com a punt de partida Hostalric, el lloc on està ubicat. El creixement de la població i de la seva indústria ha esdevingut un element positiu pel desenvolupament econòmic de la vila, però ha deixat enrere temes tan importants com les relacions entre els diferents espais urbans, activitats socials i culturals, i amb la natura. La proposta es marca com a objectiu principal diluir els límits que s’han creat a Hostalric, connectant des de la parcel·la on se situa, els diferents barris i tornant el verd sobre el seu terreny natural. Actualment, el solar és un buit dins de la trama residencial de La Conna relacionat amb els equipaments escolars de la zona. Es vol omplir aquest buit amb un “buit” que pugui acollir les diverses activitats que no tenen cabuda a la resta de la vila, fent-lo un punt de trobada per tots els seus habitants i responent a les mancances que tingui en cada moment. Meristema vol ser capaç de reunir les necessitats dels habitants d’Hostalric i les preexistències del seu entorn natural, i reactivar la població a partir d’un nou centre cultural, social i educatiu. Igual que un teixit meristemàtic, present sota l’escorça dels arbres que és capaç de multiplicar el seu conjunt de cèl·lules per crear-ne de noves i així permetre el creixement del tronc, aquest projecte pretén ser un motor de creixement per Hostalric, adaptant-se a les circumstàncies de cada generació i fent front a les amenaces ambientals amb què es trobi.

El proyecto toma como punto de partida Hostalric, el lugar donde está ubicado. El crecimiento de la población y de su industria se ha convertido en un elemento positivo para el desarrollo económico del pueblo, pero ha dejado atrás temas tan importantes como las relaciones entre los diferentes espacios urbanos, actividades sociales y culturales, y con la naturaleza. La propuesta se marca como objetivo principal diluir los límites que se han creado en Hostalric, conectando desde la parcela donde se ubica, los diferentes barrios y volviendo el verde sobre su terreno natural. Actualmente, el solar es un vacío dentro de la trama residencial de La Conna relacionado con los equipamientos escolares de la zona. Se quiere llenar este vacío con un "vacío" que pueda acoger las diversas actividades que no tienen cabida en el resto de la ciudad, haciéndolo un punto de encuentro para todos sus habitantes y respondiendo a las carencias que tenga en cada momento. Meristema quiere ser capaz de reunir las necesidades de los habitantes de Hostalric y las preexistencias de su entorno natural, y reactivar la población a partir de un nuevo centro cultural, social y educativo. Al igual que un tejido meristemático, presente bajo la corteza de los árboles que es capaz de multiplicar su conjunto de células para crear otras nuevas y así permitir el crecimiento del tronco, este proyecto pretende ser un motor de crecimiento para Hostalric, adaptándose a las circunstancias de cada generación y haciendo frente a las amenazas ambientales con las que se encuentre.

The project starts from Hostalric, the place where it is located. The growth of the population and its industry has become a positive element for the economic development of the town, but has left behind such important issues as the relationships between the different urban spaces, social and cultural activities, and with nature. The main objective of the proposal is to dilute the limits that have been created in Hostalric, connecting the different neighbourhoods from the parcel where it is located and returning the green to its natural terrain. Currently, the site is a void within the residential area of La Conna related to the school facilities in the area. The aim is to fill this void with a "void" that can accommodate the various activities that have no place in the rest of the city, making it a meeting point for all its inhabitants and responding to the shortcomings that it has at any moment. Meristema wants to be able to bring together the needs of the inhabitants of Hostalric and the pre-existences of its natural environment, and reactivate the population from a new cultural, social and educational centre. Like a meristematic tissue, present under the bark of trees that is capable of multiplying its cells to create new ones and thus allow the trunk to grow, this project aims to be an engine of growth for Hostalric, adapting to the circumstances of each generation and facing the environmental threats it encounters.
