The goal of LITEM is to assist industry in all those activities of research, development and innovation that require design, analysis, testing or certification of materials and structures with remarkable strength capabilities.

Analytical model for masonry walls strengthened with vegetal fabric reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM) composites and subjected to cyclic loads
(2020-12)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyMasonry is one of the eldest construction systems in the building industry, currently in use because some advantages like compressive capacity, traditional aesthetics, low cost and good practices. However, damages recorded ... -
Durability of FRP immersed in water. Changes in mechanical properties
(Centro Internacional de Métodos Numéricos en Ingeniería (CIMNE), 2020)
Conference report
Restricted access - publisher's policyFibre Reinforced Polymers (FRP) have been widely used to strengthened construction structural elements in the last years because of their mechanical pros. However, the durability of these materials is always controversial. ... -
Experimental testing of tile vaults
(CRC Press. Taylor & Francis Group, 2020)
Conference report
Restricted access - publisher's policyTile vaults (sometimes also referred to as thin-tile, timbrel, Catalan or Guastavino vaults) are masonry structures made with thin bricks (tiles), mortar and fast-setting cement or gypsum. This traditional construction ... -
In-plane cyclic loading of masonry walls strengthened by vegetal-fabric-reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM) composites
(Elsevier, 2020-10-15)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyFabric-reinforced cementitious matrix (FCRMs) are promising composite materials for the retrofitting and reinforcement of existing structures. In this study, vegetal meshes consisting of hemp and cotton coated with epoxy ... -
A plasticity model for simulation of industrial powder compaction processes
(1996-08)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyA constitutive model, based on large strain plasticity, for simulation of industrial powder compaction processes is presented. The elastic response is stated in terms of a hyperelastic model based on a hookean elastic free ... -
On numerical simulation of powder compaction process: powder transfer modelling and characterisation
(2005-08)
Article
Open AccessA numerical model for the powder transfer stage in powder metallurgy cold compaction processes, and the corresponding material characterisation procedure, are proposed. They have been designed on the basis of the following ... -
Numerical modeling of crack formation in powder forming processes
(2011-01)
Article
Open AccessThis paper presents a constitutive model describing the mechanical behavior of metal powders during (uniaxial) cold die compaction processes, placing special emphasis on the modeling of cracks formed during the ejection ... -
Analytical and simplified numerical approaches of FRCM pipes
(Elsevier, 2020-06-30)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyDespite the well-known advantages of fabric-reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM), few applications of this composite material have been proposed apart from structural strengthening. To exploit material corrosion resistance, ... -
