Abstract
The Romanesque in the Montseny is a basically humble art. In the villages of the Vallès area of the Natural Park, we can find more than thirty Romanesque architectural samples in different state of conservation and study, but in all of the temples what stands out is the unique position of the church in the territory, in a perfect symbiosis with the landscape and the topography of the place. These are small churches, which reproduce the common features that can be found in the Catalan Romanesque style, with the orientation of the apse to the east, the access through the south side, the capitals with simple vegetal elements, and the single naves covered with barrel vaults. The pictorial decoration is scattered across, and the sculpture is limited to chess, braids, lesenes and arcades ornamentations, because what really ennobles these constructions of the Vallès area is the landscape that surrounds them, always linked to the human presence that has been working on it.
