Online learning in ergonomics and occupational risk prevention: facing the urgency and diversification of a massive learning demand

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to provide a discussion of the opportunities and challenges of applying online learning strategies to face the urgency and diversification of the current learning demand. Based upon the ten-year experience of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya offering online learning in ergonomics and occupational risk prevention, some of the capabilities of the online condition are discussed and critical issues and implications for the design, evaluation or selection of a learning management system are addressed.
