Abstract
This thesis was born from the desire to architecturally explore a natural element that is simple yet complex: Water.
As the source of life, water is undeniably tied to the most intimate parts of human nature, civilizations have tried to control it, shape it, and use it in different ways.
The project is following the theories and possibilities surrounding a single building, the Piscina Municipal de Montjuic. One of the key characteristics of the building is its panoramic view over the city and its North façade of 14 meters, devoid of any ornament. We will discover how this singular facility is in fact part of bigger architectural themes.
My preferred methodology to develop the concepts of this thesis is through hand-drawings and scaled models, forming an integral part of the process of a project, from abstract to a clear intention.
