Abstract
The limitations of numerical simulations by a lack of computational resources has favoured the development of approaches that aim at reducing the computational cost of these simulations, while retaining a high degree of reliability. In the context of automotive structural analysis, we present the development of a surrogate model for linear elasticity through the implementation of Model Order Reduction (MOR) techniques. This project is divided in two main parts: first, an overview of the techniques used, as well as its role in the construction of the reduced model, and a discussion on its implementation through the commercial software NASTRAN; and second, the analysis of the results obtained for different cases of linear and non-linear MOR implementations, and of the results of the surrogate model itself, with respect to the results offered by a direct NASTRAN simulation.
