LEAM - Laboratori d'Enginyeria Acústica i Mecànica

A 2.5D automatic FEM-SBM method for the evaluation of free-field vibrations induced by underground railway infrastructures
(2022)
Text en actes de congrés
Accés obertThis paper presents an efficient method to predict underground railway-induced vibrations. The method uses the finite element method (FEM) to model the railway tunnel structure and the singular boundary method (SBM) to ... -
Acoustic emission at the wheel-rail contact with micro-slip and stick-slip
(2022)
Text en actes de congrés
Accés obertThe paper aimsto analyse the occurrence of acoustic emission at the wheel-rail contact during microslip. The experimental model allows the different loads and the low sliding speeds specific to the wheel-rail contact. It ... -
VIBWAY: A user-friendly computational tool for the prediction of railway-induced ground-borne noise and vibration
(2022)
Text en actes de congrés
Accés obertThis paper aims to introduce preliminary statement of methods of a computationally efficient and user-friendly toolbox, called VIBWAY, able to predict vibration and re-radiated noise levels in two situations. On the one ... -
The effect of onboard passengers’ seating arrangement on the vertical ride comfort of a high-speed railway vehicle
(Sage, 2022-04-22)
Article
Accés obertThis research is concerned with the impact of onboard passengers’ seating arrangement on the carbody flexural vibrations of a high-speed railway vehicle. In this regard, the previously developed passenger body-seat models ... -
Proper location of the transducers for an active noise barrier
(SAGE PUBLICATIONS INC, 2022-04-15)
Article
Accés obertThe main intention of this study is to propose general criteria for the locations of the control sources and error microphones that improve the performance of the active noise barrier. Based on the proposed criteria of ... -
Combined sensitivity analysis for multiple failure modes
(2022-05-10)
Article
Accés obertSensitivity analysis identifies the influential parameters and it is a key step in the design process. Focusing on reliability based design, the probability of a failure mode and its sensitivity to input uncertainties are ... -
2.5D singular boundary method for exterior acoustic radiation and scattering problems
(2022-10)
Article
Accés obertIn this paper, a numerical methodology based on a two-and-a-half-dimensional (2.5D) singular boundary method (SBM) to deal with acoustic radiation and scattering problems in the context of longitudinally invariant structures ... -
Active noise control for open windows
(2021-08-01)
Article
Accés restringit per política de l'editorialOver the last decades, the applications of the active noise control system are broadened. In this study, the active noise control is modeled to reduce the noise pass through an open window. The objective is to define a ... -
A 2.5D coupled FEM–SBM methodology for soil–structure dynamic interaction problems
(Elsevier, 2022-01-01)
Article
Accés obertIn this paper, a novel numerical methodology to deal with longitudinally invariant soil–structure interaction problems is proposed. The methodology uses the finite element method to model the structure and the singular ... -
A predictive model for fracture in human ribs based on in-vitro acoustic emission data
(2021-09-01)
Article
Accés obertPurpose The aim of this paper is to propose a fracture model for human ribs based on acoustic emission (AE) data. The accumulation of microcracking until a macroscopic crack is produced can be monitored by AE. The ... -
Assessment of dynamic vibration absorbers efficiency as a countermeasure for ground-borne vibrations induced by train traffic in double-deck tunnels using an energy flow criterion
(Springer, 2019)
Text en actes de congrés
Accés restringit per política de l'editorialDouble-deck tunnels are an innovative tunnel layout design useful to enhance the efficiency of underground railway transportation systems in which the tunnel is divided into two sections by an interior floor. However, ... -
