Abstract
“A flywheel technology implementation approach for a real case scenario” is an initial report that describes the possibilities of such a technology installment in real conditions. To do so, the project is structured in two parts: the first one describes the technology itself and details its possibilities (1,2,3) and the second one focuses on the application on a real scenario of such technology (4,5). The first part is an introductory theoretical approach to the flywheel mechanism in order to explain better what a flywheel is and how it works. Its possibilities when implementing it in the real world are detailed here. In the second part the application of these possibilities in a real scenario are analyzed. This second part describes the process trying to find an economic gap in the real market for the flywheel technology to fill. Two possible flywheel applications are analyzed: power peak shaving and an electric vehicle charging point. This gets sustained by the firm ENERGIA0 where a current project of flywheel development is active. The firm collaborates with other companies that supply it and innovate through this technology. The collaboration’s focus is to spread the use and study the possibilities of the flywheel on a large scale basis
