Ambiguity: a place for playing

Abstract

Playing is an important activity in the process of growth of children because it develops their brains and improves their imagination. However, adults also use the game as a leisure activity, to relax and to have a break from the usual routine. Therefore, playing activities should have determined places in a city to improve the emotional health of its citizens. Playing is a leisure activity left for the interpretation of people, which is an ambiguous activity because people can decide how to do it. For instance, playgrounds for children count with playgrounds that have an implicit function, however, kids interpret the functions as the way they want. Another example is a skater park, in this case, the designers build routes and ramps to compose the park, but every person can use it however they want.
