Especificación y diseño de un sistema software para la realización de auditorías informáticas

Abstract

El siguiente Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene como objetivos la especificación y el diseño, en líneas generales, de un sistema software para la gestión y realización de auditorías de sistemas informáticos. El trabajo se ha llevado a cabo en colaboración con una de las firmas de consultoría y auditoría más importantes a nivel global, en concreto se ha trabajado con su departamento de auditoría de sistemas informáticos el cual trabaja en colaboración con el de auditoría financiera. La auditoría de sistemas que realiza la firma se centra principalmente en la obtención de evidencias para el testeo de la existencia y la efectividad de los ITGCs (Information Technology General Controls) que las compañías auditadas aplican en sus sistemas. Los ITGCs son una serie de controles estandarizados y definidos por la ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) que se aplican sobre los entornos en los que se desarrollan, mantienen y operan estos sistemas. Estos controles incluyen las políticas, procedimientos y prácticas que la dirección de IT de la compañía establece con el objetivo de asegurar el correcto desarrollo e implementación de las aplicaciones y la integridad de los programas y sus datos. El departamento considera que este sistema va a ser altamente necesario en el futuro, esto es debido a que en la actualidad se utiliza un sistema que fue desarrollado inicialmente para las auditorías financieras y que no cubre sus necesidades específicas, si se tiene en cuenta que la demanda en los últimos años de este tipo de auditorías ha ido creciendo y que ha planificado que cada vez van a tener más peso, se hace evidente que tener un sistema propio que permita agilizar su trabajo va a ser clave para poder escalar este tipo de auditorías a más clientes en el futuro. El resultado final del proyecto ha consistido en la generación de toda la documentación asociada a la especificación de este sistema y a una propuesta de diseño, en líneas generales, de este mismo sistema. Ambas partes se han realizado aplicando las metodologías y los conceptos aprendidos en las asignaturas de la especialidad de ES de la facultad.

The following Final Degree Project objectives are the specification and design, in general terms, of an IT audit software system, which will be used to manage and document those auditories. The project has been done in collaboration with one of the most important consulting and auditing firms at a global level, specifically in collaboration with its IT systems audit department, which works in collaboration with the financial audit department. The IT systems audit performed by the firm is mainly focused on obtaining evidence to test the existence and effectiveness of the ITGCs (Information Technology General Controls) that audited companies apply to their systems. ITGCs are a series of standardized controls that are defined by ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) and that are applied to the environments in which those systems are developed, maintained and operated, these controls include the policies, procedures and practices that the company's IT department establishes in order to ensure the correct development and implementation of applications and the integrity of programs and their data. The department considers that this system will be highly necessary in the future, this is due to the fact that the system that is currently used was initially developed exclusively for financial audits and it does not cover their specific needs, taking into account that the demand in recent years for this type of audits has been growing and that it has been planed that those audits will increase in their weight, it becomes evident that having a system that correctly fits their needs will be key to scale this type of audits to more clients in the future. The result of this project has consisted in generating all of the documentation associated with the specification of this system and its design proposal. Both parts have been carried out applying methodologies and concepts that have been learnt during the course of the Software Engineering speciality.
