The presence of aerosols in the atmosphere is of great importance in aeronautics. Large doses ingested by the engine can cause both economic losses and safety issues. At Mitiga Solutions, a spin-off of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - National Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) that offers commercial solutions capable of assessing and mitigating the impact of atmospheric risks, improving risk management for customers in various industries, aerosol concentration information in the atmosphere and actual flight trajectories are used to calculate, with high resolution, the impact of these pollutants on the studied aircraft. For this purpose, the most accurate information on the trajectory of the aircraft is needed. The aim of this project is to obtain all the flight data, for a certain day, from different ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast) data providers, and to analyze which of these sources of information, or a combination of them, is a better option for Mitiga interests. In order to decide which source is more appropriate, data from five different providers were downloaded, for the same day, specifically on January 1, 2020, a series of information fields were selected, and analyzed in terms of integrity, coverage and utility. Analysis have been performed such as the identification and accounting of the different aircraft models, engine types, coverage of regions (destination / origin), among others, and the data for the different sources have been compared. Thus checking the coverage provided by each of the data sources for different fields. In addition, we wanted to check in depth what are the trajectories obtained by each data source, by a subset of flights common to all of them, and which providers provide better coverage for certain flights that are of strategic interest to the company. Taking into account all these analysis and factors, together with the price involved in hiring the services of the sources to be able to market this data, certain conclusions have been drawn as to which are the best options presented. Mainly, it is considered convenient to opt for a cheaper solution, adding the possibility of using an estimate of the trajectories, as it seems that some of the data sources do with a high price, but developed by the company itself, obtaining flights complete even in oceanic and remote regions. In addition, for studies where more detailed flight information is required for certain specific flights, the data obtained from the contracted source can be supplemented by downloading the necessary data from a more expensive provider.
