Study of the structural analysis and testing of a 1U Cubesat (3-CAT4)

Abstract

In the past decades the tendency to make space available has led to a new world wide situation, the new space, with the small satellites as their maximum exponent. Inside that group of satellites, Nanosatellites are the most commonly used among students and, in the case of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, it is not different. NanoSat Lab Team, with base in Campus Nord, has believed ever since its creation in this technology. With the design and development of three nanosatellites, one of which was put into orbit in 2016, it is the most experienced student team involved in CubeSats in Catalunya. The new NanoSat Lab project, 3Cat-4 mission, was selected for the ESA program Fly Your Satellite! and it is planned to be launched by the end of 2018. This thesis is set to conduct the works related to the integration of the CAD model of the satellite and the analysis of the structural behaviour of the satellite during the launch.
