Acoustics and noise control have become an interesting research subject in recent times.Society is taking conscience about the detrimental effects noise has in people’s healthand is working on the reduction of acoustic pollution. Among the most important noisesources in everyday life, there are aerodynamic induced sounds, which are the subject ofthis project. Sound generated by aerodynamics is mainly present in vehicles and, althoughthe biggest contributors to acoustic pollution in this group are airplanes, the electrificationof road vehicles has caused the importance of controlling noise generated by air for speedsaround 100km/hto increase. Lately, and thanks to the recent increases in computationalperformance, the study of these airflows around the geometries of vehicles have moved frombeing studied experimentally to being simulated computationally, as it involves lower costsand times. This project overviews the state of the art of computational aeroacoustics (CAA), focusingon integral methods, specially on Curle’s method, as it will be implemented for the caseof an open cavity. The aim of this project is to find the most suitable way to treat thegeometry in order to reach the most precise integration of the acoustic signals generatedby the open cavity. Although results have not been fully conclusive, they are close toexpected values, leaving as future work a comparative study in order to test accuracy andperformance of the final post-processing tool
