Abstract
In this work, a component mode synthesis technique is proposed to improve
the computational efficiency of Finite Element problems including 3D modelling of poroelastic
materials. The modal reduction relies on real-valued modes, solution of a standard
eigenvalue problem, based on a classical solid and fluid displacements formulation of the
porous media. Efficiency in terms of degrees of freedom, convergence, sparsity and computation
time is presented.
