The aim is to contribute to industrial development by fostering innovation and incorporating new technologies, as strategies for competitiveness, in the fields of light alloys and surface engineering.

Synergetic effects of Cr, Zr, Mg and Zn microalloying on microstructure and mechanical behavior of AlSi9Cu3 alloy
(2020)
Conference lecture
Restricted access - publisher's policyThe effect of the alloy elements on the microstructure and the mechanical properties of an AlSi9Cu3 (Fe) secondary alloy is analysed. The additives involved include Zn, Mg, Cr, Zr and TiB, which were added in small amounts. ... -
Partial melting semisolid manufacturing to obtain billets for thixocasting extrusion
(2020)
Conference lecture
Restricted access - publisher's policyCompanies that use prepared billets for thixocasting need to buy the billet depending on an external supplier or develop their own billets with expensive processes. In this investigation a prototype that measures the ... -
Formability of the 5754-aluminum alloy deformed by a modified repetitive corrugation and straightening process
(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2020-01)
Article
Open AccessSheets of 5754-aluminum alloy processed by a modified repetitive corrugation and straightening (RCS) process were tested in order to measure their formability. For this purpose, forming limit curves were derived. They ... -
