Abstract
This study is focused on the development of a battery pack for electric motor-glider applications. First of all, the state of the art shows the reader how developed are motorglider and battery industries, by overviewing different propulsion types in the first, and wide range of battery types and chemistries in the latter. The core of the study shuts with a deep analysis of power requirements for self-launching electric motor-gliders, laying the groundwork for battery pack design. The engineering process starts with the raw component: cell selection, being followed by cell assembly to conform modules and finally, to join these modules to get the entire battery pack. Finally, all industrial projects must be endorsed by good economic and sustainability studies. That is why the feasibility study gains importance, and same with the environmental analysis.
