First of all, study all the positioning systems that can be used in a drone, deeply investigating the sonar and the optical flow technology. After it, experiment with different sonars and determine the best option for a drone, considering the vibrations and air flow turbulance. Then, the sensors must be installed, programmed and, finally, tested, in order to ensure it works properly. Then, the same process will be done with other type of sensors (depending on the future requirements of the company) in order to make the drone capable to obtain the most information possible.
The main objective of this project is to implement in an unmanned aerial vehicle an indoor positioning system based on sonar and optical flow technology, with the aim of having a precise altitude and horizontal postion control. Furthermore, more sensors will be implemented to the drone during the lifetime of the project with the objective of making the drone capable of getting the most information possible.
