Abstract
Fatigueless structures inspired by nature are possible due to biomimetic. It offers significant approaches for designing complex structures to meet certain structural requirements. In order to accomplish this, it is necessary to consider the structural aspects and initial conditions and, with this information, investigate fatigueless structures inspired by nature. This paper interprets structures following the biomimetic method and explains the procedure to be followed, based on a few previous studied examples. The research involves two cases, including crab pincers and bamboo branches, to design samples to be printed in a 3d printer, selective laser melting (slm), and test these structures under the finite-element method and fatigue testing. Results of the study indicate that one of the optimal structures is similar to the natural structures. This seems to suggest that while materials cannot be immune to fatigue, structures can.
