DISEN - Distributed Sensor Networks

Adaptive IP scheduler design to support QoS guarantees over satellite systems
(2012-06)
Article
Open AccessThis paper presents an adaptive algorithm for man-aging the weight values of the Weighted Round Robin (WRR)scheduler to provide End-to-End (E2E) Quality of Service (QoS)guarantees for Broadband satellite ... -
Educational test bench for attitude control of 1U Cubesats
(European Space Agency (ESA), 2019)
Conference report
Restricted access - publisher's policyIn this paper, we present a test bench intended to test attitude control of 1U Cubesats. This platform, based in air bearing principle, is intended for educational purposes. It is designed according to the principles of ... -
Audience measurement using a top-view camera and oriented trajectories
(2019)
Conference report
Restricted access - publisher's policyA crucial aspect for selecting optimal areas for commercial advertising is the probability with which that publicity will be seen. This paper presents a method based on top-view camera measurement, where the probability ... -

Risk-based decision-making for public key infrastructures using fuzzy logic
(2012-11-01)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyPublic key infrastructures (PKIs) are complex systems that are responsible for giving users enough information to make reasonable trust judgments about one another. The validation of public keys is hence of great importance. ... -
QoSatAr: a cross-layer architecture for E2E QoS provisioning over DVB-S2 broadband satellite systems
(2012-10-01)
Article
Open AccessThis article presents QoSatAr, a cross-layer architecture developed to provide end-to-end quality of service (QoS) guarantees for Internet protocol (IP) traffic over the Digital Video Broadcasting-Second generation (DVB-S2) ... -
Advanced quiz development for students’ self-learning in power generation, transmission and distribution
(SAGE PUBLICATIONS INC, 2019)
Article
Open AccessStudents’ learning can be improved by using online quizzes with a valuable feedback, especially in large groups, making it very interesting for engineering subjects which are based on mathematics. This paper presents the ... -
Oriented trajectories as a method for audience measurement
(2018)
Conference report
Restricted access - publisher's policyThe quantification of the attention received by advertisements is of paramount importance to determine its effectiveness. In this work, a simple and effective objective method for the assessment of the attention given to ...
