Abstract
Since 1980, the cruise industry has recorded an impressive average annual passenger growth rate of approximately 7% per annum. The Mediterranean Sea is one of the most busiest markets in the world in terms of cruise passengers. The aim of this work is to characterize the cruise growth and to investigate future trends in the Mediterranean Ports. Different analytical tools will be used, such as, strategic positioning analysis, concentration indexes, compositional data approach and time-series prediction techniques.
