dc.description.abstractThis project aims to study the feasibility of a program capable of modelling and obtaining the total weight of the fuel system of commercial aircrafts. Once this program has been created, focus can be turned to the hydraulic system, with the aim of achieving the same. In order to achieve this, all the components of both systems are explained, and how these components work side by side to perform the necessary functions. A study of the current solutions used has been carried out in order to estimate the mass of the systems studied (statistical based formulas). The methodology followed within the project is then explained in order to obtain the code: the common characteristics, patterns, calculations of the necessary elements and explanation of the hypotheses and simplifications considered. Next, how the program works is explained in detail, carried out in Python language, the outputs that are obtained with its execution, and the limitations of the code. It is clear to see there is not enough information, or it is confidential, to make a program for the hydraulic system. After testing the code for the fuel system, analysing the results obtained by the program and comparing them with the values of the current statistical formulas, the study concludes that although the approach of a parametric program is interesting from the point of view of flexibility, we must continue working on and improving the project, as well as collecting real data, to obtain results that point to the real value of the aircraft. It is hoped that this project will also serve the reader as a guide to understand how both systems work and their basic functionalities.
