Abstract
This study presents the most noteworthy aspects of the comparison of professional competences before and after the introduction of the European Higher Education Area, corresponding to the first decade of its implementation in Spain (2008-2018). We have analyzed the professional competences of recent graduated engineers hired by the information and communication technologies sector from de job market point of view, addressing a survey to more than 1500 professionals. These data have been compared with a previous survey carried out in 2008. The paper presents the main results of this comparison regarding soft skills, information and communication technologies, curriculum design, and gender and ethical aspects, arising unique and interesting conclusions related to 10 years of change of educational paradigm in the Spanish technological university.
